Hog House Removal

In order to make way for the new hobby shop I had to remove the old hog house and associated concrete yard.

I contemplated simply burning it down, but was concerned that as there were several building nearby, if it got out of control, there could be unforeseen consequences.

I choose to pull the building down with the help of my trusty MF GC 2410 TLB tractor. The building was separated into several parts and each was burnt separately. I made to sure to have a 50 gallon barrel of water as well as a hose connected to the nearby hydrant for safety purposes.

To break up the concrete, I rented an ET 20 excavator for Mueller Implement. They also provisioned the hydraulic breaker. I spent most of Labor Day weekend breaking up the concrete. It seemed quite hard work, even if I was sitting down most of the time.

I then had Ferrell Excavating, Inc. haul away the concrete. Fortunately, someone close by needed a hole filling in.
