Due to the lack of interest in my siding project due no doubt to the pandemic I decided to install it myself. I did employ a professional for one day to give me some instruction on how best to install the siding, and then I did the rest myself.
This is the first couple of panels we installed.

I picked up all the siding using a borrowed trailer from the local Amish fabricator. Although it doesn’t look very heavy the tractor front end loader wouldn’t even “look at” it! I had to hand off load.

One important tip I got was to drill a master sheet and then use it to pre-drill all the holes in all the other sheets so they are all in identical spots both vertically and horizontally. Apart from making it look very professional, this made it very easy to install the panels as the self-tapping screws go in much easier when there is a pilot hole.

I designed a custom-made platform to assist with the panel installation. I mounted it to the tractor, and it made it very easy to put on the panels and the trim work.

Once all the panels were installed, I added all the trim in white. Note the part with no siding. This was due to wanting to put a new window in as I had decided to remove the mezzanine casement window and wanted to be able to have some ventilation.
