Conduit

Construction involved the use of about 2500′ of conduit varying in size from 3/4″ to 2″.

Approximately 2000′ was used in the hobby shop. This is used for both electric and data feeds under the floor to the SIP panels. The SIP panels have pre-formed 1.5″ channels running through the polystyrene.

Conduit was laid to the house, solar barn, well and silo barn to enable the provision of data services. Except to the well, two conduits were run to each location to enable provision of future services such as fiber.

Conduit was run for a few feet outside the shop and buried in sand. This allows it to be easily located in the future, as sand is very friable. Marker tapes were also run to enable the conduit to be located more easily when digging to locate it.

All new services were recorded and Visio diagrams drawn to enable easy location in the future.
